Rechtsanwalt Sven Kohlmeier hat am 29.09.2020 zusammen mit seinem amerikanischen Kollegen Ben E. Griffith an der Konferenz der International Municipal Lawyers Association erneut einen Vortrag gehalten. Das Thema war aktuell: Data Protection, Privacy & Cybersecurity. Die Konferenz fand auf Grund der Corona-Pandemi virtuell statt.

Datenschutz, Schutz der Privatsphäre und Cybersicherheit sind Themen, die für RechtsanwältInnen und AnwältInnen in den Verwaltungen (Local Government Lawyers) von besonderer Bedeutung sind. In ihrem Vortrag vor über 100 virtuell teilnehmenden Teilnehmern haben Griffith und Kohlmeier referiert. Cyberangriffe auf Verwaltungs- und Infrastruktureinrichtungen, der Schutz der Privatsphäre durch staatliche Überwachung aber auch Cyberangriffe sind tagtägliche Herausforderungen für Nutzer. Neue Technologien wie Gesichtserkennung führen zu rechtlichen und ethischen Fragen und müssen beantwortet werden. Und auch der Datenaustausch zwischen der Europäischen Union und den USA war eines der Themenbereich. Lawyer Sven Kohlmeier and his American colleague Ben E. Griffith gave another lecture at the conference of the International Municipal Lawyers Association. The topic was up-to-date: Data Protection, Privacy & Cybersecurity. The conference took place virtually due to the corona pandemi. Data protection, privacy and cybersecurity are issues that are of particular importance to lawyers and lawyers in the administration (Local Government Lawyers). Griffith and Kohlmeier gave a lecture in front of more than 100 virtual participants. Cyber attacks on administrative and infrastructure facilities, the protection of privacy through state surveillance, but also cyber attacks are daily challenges for users. New technologies like facial recognition lead to legal and ethical questions and need to be answered. The data exchange between the European Union and the USA was also one of the topics.
